A Mindbody alternative

Mindbody is well built. Its billing model is the part worth arguing with.

A side-by-side on what a Mindbody gym actually pays each month once the branded app, processing fees and marketplace commission are counted, and what this alternative costs instead.

Competitor figures are published or third-party reported pricing as of October 2026 and change frequently. Mindbody gates exact pricing behind a sales call. Verify current numbers before making a decision.

What a gym actually pays

Same gym, three sizes. Two very different invoices.

Atlas's number is the real monthly price. Mindbody's is the reported range operators say they pay, since the exact figure is gated behind a sales call.

Axis shared across all three scenarios so the positions are directly comparable. Atlas prices are published on our pricing page. Mindbody does not publish tier prices. The ranges shown are third-party reported, not a quote, and most likely reflect single-location pricing; multi-location accounts are reported to carry an unpublished additional charge. Mindbody advertises plans "starting at $79/month per location," but no tier shows that figure. See the FAQ below for sourcing.

Cost of ownership

The subscription is the smallest line on the invoice.

Most comparisons stop at the headline monthly price. For a facility taking card payments, the branded app and the processing stack usually cost more than the subscription itself.

Working example: a 200-member gym taking ₦40,000 (roughly $26) per member per month in card payments is turning over about $5,200 a month. Three percent processing on that is roughly $156 a month before a single platform commission. On Mindbody Accelerate plus a branded app, add 3.60% + $0.30 per transaction and 20% on anyone who arrived through the marketplace, on top of $508–578 of subscription.

Where Atlas is weaker

Three things Mindbody does better.

A comparison page that only lists strengths is marketing. These are the real gaps.

  • No consumer marketplace. Mindbody reaches 2.8M+ monthly users looking for classes. If discovery is your main problem, we are not the answer.
  • No track record. GymMaster has thirty years and Wodify has thousands of businesses. We have a small number of live facilities and one named customer.
  • No workout and performance tracking. Wodify's WOD logging and leaderboards are a deeper vertical build than anything we ship.

Who should stay on Mindbody

Four cases where we are the wrong choice.

If any of these describe your facility, do not migrate.

  • You need a consumer marketplace to fill empty classes, not just to run the ones you have.
  • You want a thirty-year vendor with a large support organisation behind it.
  • You are a franchise or multi-country chain that needs SSO, audit logs and procurement paperwork on day one.
  • You need CrossFit-native workout logging and leaderboards.
